I prefer you to get xbox because if you don't care blu-ray and like xbox live then Xbox is the better choice. i recommend getting Halo 3 ODST because since alot of your friends have Xbox 360 they could just bring over there controller and pure and lego batman aren't that fun online, and not dragon Age because RPG games aren't my type of game but if it is your type you should get that. Halo 3 ODST is also the highest rated game on that list and Halo online has been the most played game on Xbox live for almost 2 years and it's still one of the number one Xbox live games
360 bundle it gives you more ways to stay connected with your friends. You can IM, chat, party, use facebook, and twitter. Also when you get an extra gift get HAlO: ODST it is an awesome game. ALL i can say is if you buy a ps3 get the game UNCHARTED 2 it has the best graphics ever and is the best shooter of its kind. So, an xbox 360 is awesome because more people play it and there are more ways to stay connected and in touch with your friends. THe 360 has great gaming also. Go for the PS3 if you "really" want Blu Ray otherwise stick with the Elite.

Good game(s) to get for ps3?
I have both an XBox 360 and a PS3. I love them both, but currently I only have MAG for PS3. As I am slowly migrating to PS3, I want to expand my library. And if a game is available for both consoles, My choice is the PS3 version. I understand this is an XBox 360, but please put all your biast concerns to the side for now.
I enjoy FPS and RPGs. And I love the two mixed. Also a good multiplayer would be a great bonus, but is not required.
I used to have MW2 for 360, but sold it to put money towards my ps3. honestly it got boring and repetitive. MAYBE id buy WaW for Nazi Zombies or BlackOps, but MW2 is not an option as of now.
I only can afford 1 MAYBE 2 games right now. And I have to renew xbl by january 1st

Get Fallout 3, Borderlands, and Dragon Age: Origins (for whatever system you can get a better price for). The Mass Effect series in its entirety is better left to the Xbox 360, so you can experience the full story and data transfer from game to game.Good game(s) to get for ps3?

Since you like FPS games i would recommend Resistance and Killzone 2. Killzone 2 especially is an amazing game. Dragon Age Origins is one of the best RPG games out there. Since you like a combo of FPS and RPG, Fallout 3 is a good choice. I agree in saying that the Mass Effesct series should be left to the Xbox 360 because that way you can import your ME1 saves to ME2. MGS 4 is one of THE best games out there.

borderlands is amazing. they are coming out with the Game of The Year Edition, which includes all 4 DLC maps included with the original game. plus, you can play online against friends in the arena or play with a total of 4 people online during the main game.
InFamous is a pretty cool game. you'll have to go through the game 2 times. sequel coming soon.
Army of two was a good game, the sequel sucked.
Naughty Bear looks like fun, but its a bad game.

Coop multiplayer RPG for PS3?
Hello,
I`m just bought a console after 20 years of being a PC gamer, I can't seem to find a multiplayer coop RPG game for me and my friends. Not an MMO, though, just a regular RPG, like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Torchlight, etc.where you have multiple classes, character progression, good story, good replayability.
I would very much appreciate any suggestions, but please no Anime / Manga style games.
P.S. multiplayer via online play, not same console w/ two controllers.

Can somebody explain Valve's Steam to me?
I know a lot of you are probab;y thinking how can I not know anything bout steam but Ive been a console gamer all my life and never stepped foot in PC gaming much. What I want to know is just what Steam is all about. The only reason why im even interested in Steam is I heard you can download mods for some games. Is this true? I want to get mods like stuff for dragon age and mass effect where you can mess around with the characters and stuff like that. I also want to know do I have to play games on pc with a keyboard? I heard that there are some pc controlers that just like console controllers as i am very familar with them I tried gaming with a keyborad b4 and it was an disaster. Also will my labtop be able to handle the games? I have a 2gb ram labtop. if my labtop wont run it then i dont even care bout steam then. Thanks for the infoCan somebody explain Valve's Steam to me?
Your laptop is fine, although I would recommend using a usb mouse if you do not already.

Steam is an abomination. Their games are rediculously overpriced (Althogh they do have pretty good deals but thats rare), it has a terrible user interface, and most of their features were ripped off from another program but steam is convenient because you dont need any disks and it auto downloads patches.
But to answer your question, steam has NOTHING to do with mods. You can download them if you use steam or not.
As for controllers, i prefer to use a keyboard since its much more accurate and faster and not all games support them but they do work better for some games like GTA IV and dead space.
and 2GB ram means nothing, its all about your Processor and Graphics. If you have an intel chipset or something similar then your not going to be running many games. Go to start, click run and type dxdiag, that should tell you everything you need to know.
Steam is a service to buy Digital copies for games or register retail copies to get the same benefits. These benefits are a social network, easy online server access and things like that. It's not really about Mods. You should just Google those.

I know my fair share of video games, and I have played a wide range of them. To name a few, I have played Assassin's Creed Series, Dragon Age Series, Duke Nukem Forever, The Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims 3, Red Dead, Harry Potter, Lego Harry Potter, Professor Layton, Pokemon, Call of Duty.
I can of course give people my recommendation on ps3 vs xbox 360, and weather something is suitable for their child or not. I know what MMORPG, FPS, NPC, AI etc. etc. stand for. I know that in order to get better graphics for your xbox it's advised that you should get a HDMI cable.
I know when games are coming out like in August 23rd Dues Ex: Human Revolution will be released. November is going to have video games galore, titles such as Assassin's Creed (11/15), Elder Scrolls: Skyrim(11/11), MW3 (11/8), and Halo Combat (11/15) are coming out.
But what I really need to know is accessories, I have little to nothing knowledge on console accessories and really need someone to list of a couple well known accessories for the following consoles. DS, Wii, XBox 360, and PS3, please and thank you!I need a video game guru's help?!?

All you really need to know for accessories is headsets, move/kinect, and 360 wireless adapters. I'd assume accessories don't even sell that often... every time I am in Gamestop I never see anyone buying them. I mean, I'm sure they sell... just not as frequently as systems or games. Headsets come with 360 so you'd be seeing PS3 users buying those. The Move and Kinect probably don't sell all that often and are pretty simple. Camera and nun-chucks.
I'd say the most accessories you're going to be seeing bought are adapters, chargers, extenstions, cables etc.
I'm sure they will give you a run down too. By the way, Gamestop should have a list of all upcoming releases at the front desk for customers to meander through while waiting for whatever. So don't assume you have to memorize as many release dates for as many games.
My advice to you is learn how to cope with those who have no clue about gaming. I can't count the number of times I see mothers go into the store with their children and hold the cashier up for at least 15 minutes because they have to contemplate whether or not to buy something for their child.

I saw a mother and her son walk in and grab a PS3, accessories, and a few games for their child and whipped out what I assumed was their kid's Gamestop card, expecting it to a credit card or something. She flipped out on the cashier. Felt bad for the guy, he didn't do anything wrong. He had to explain to her that there isn't money on the card, took at least 10 minutes.

I swear I've been wanting to get a new PC for at least 3 years, but it'll always come out to $1300! But it's worth it since I want to play games like Dragon Age, Fallout 3, and more upcoming games. So I was at my sister's house and played Fallout 3 GOTY on my nephew's PS3 and was thinking of buying it for my Xbox 360 and if I ever get my new PC I'll buy it for PC out of desperate. But I was thinking, also, that if I do that then I will not play it on the Xbox 360 often, but more on the PC. I swear I want a more living breathing game which is why I download mods that add more random NPCs and graphic enhance.
So now the question that I'm asking to the community: Is it worth waiting for Fallout 3 on the PC because of mods and things that you will not possibly do on a console or buy it now for console and then buy it later for PC. I really need help to decide! But want to play it my way. There is just so much you can do in this game, with so many different routes you can take in missions, overall story, and leveling up. Don't listen to those 1 star reviews (what an insult), they couldn't be more wrong about this one. I mean it when I say that you would have to hate fun to experience this game and give it anything less than what it deserves. A perfect *5*out*of*5*! Give it a shot, you won't regret it. XBox 360, PS3 or Wii?
I used to be an avid gamer and bought every game console as soon as it was released, but now I'm a mom and money is tight so I mostly do PC gaming, but now I have a little fun money and I'd like to get a console. My kids are 2, 3 and 5, so they won't be using it, maybe the 5 year old will a littie, I enjoy action/adventure RPGs, puzzle games and the occasional FPS. My recent fav PC games have been Portal 2, Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2. My husband likes similar games and co-op, he would add Left 4 Dead 2, Crysis 2 and Brink to the list (eesh, lots of 2's lol.) and we're both interested in motion cap games, but here's the kicker, my husband was born with one hand so controller design is important and games requiring two wands or nunchuk would be out of the question. He has no problems using a Playstation or XBox style controller though L1 and L2 buttons are tough because it's the left hand he's missing.
So with all that info which system do you think would be the best for my family?XBox 360, PS3 or Wii?
Personally i would go with Xbox360. Because for one they are a little less expensive and with the games it sounds like you play I will assume that you would not be using Xbox live. Now with your husbands hand disability i personally (hate to say it but) I think it would work better to go with a PS3 because their controllers are more compact and the left joystick is really close to the right so it may not be too hard for him. I would not get a wii because most games require a nunchuck or to flip the controller sideways (making it very long) so it would be difficult for your husband to play most game. There really is not that big a difference between PS3 and Xbox360 but there will be an eternal dispute between which is better. I know you need to pay fore live but you get DLC earlier from activision. I would go with a PS3 in your situation though. Also great game choices!!! Mass Effect 3 this December!!!!!
You could go with the kinect, which has no controller. Otherwise, I think he's out of luck, since all three systems involve character movement on the left side of the controller, or with the nun-chuck. Course, maybe he can play with one hand, I honestly don't know.

Growing up I was always a console kid, because my computer ran like junk. Now that Im older I feel like I've really missed out on some good PC games over the last 15 years, and I'd like to get into them a little bit. Why won't my PS3 display gameplay in 1080p?
I have a full 1080p, 120hz refresh rate, LED LCD 46" Sharp Aquos Quattron TV (Which I whole heartily recommend, along with the Samsung's SmartTV, even though in my opinion, apps are useless) that can (and does) display 1080p via HDMI from my cable box when watching movies (and some HD channels), and when the PS3 starts up and goes to the menu (also via HDMI).
I noticed that games made for the PS3 (Infamous 2, LA Noire) - have back covers that say the game can be displayed in 720p, and it does. Now, I recently bought Assassin's Creed Revelations, an Ubisoft production for PCs, but watered down for consoles like the PS3. I noticed the back said it can be displayed in 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p - so I dorked before playing it in hopes of seeing a game in 1080p (even though I can barely see the difference between 720p/1080p myself). However, when I turn it on, my TV confirms that the display from the PS3 switches from 1080p at the menu screen, to 720p when the game starts loading up.
At first I thought it was just some loophole companies can advertise on the back of the game-boxes for the PS3, since technically, the game disc for PCs can display full 1080p. But then I remembered that I bought Dragon Age Origins (A BioWare production for PCs) some time ago (Which I would not recommend for any console, but the game itself is great) - so I looked at the back and it said the game displays in only 480p and 720p. So there goes that theory.
My second theory was another loophole - that the cinematic videos for the game are in 1080p, but the gameplay itself is 720p. But every time a video displays (during gameplay or not), the display never switches to 1080p.
Is there something wrong with my setup, or are other people noticing this?

I'd say more than $500. A 360 Elite retails for $300 alone, a wireless adapter is around $80 too. $500 is a good starting point if you were planning on selling on ebay, but anywhere else I'd say to start around at least $600. Even if you say each game is only $20, you're looking at $320 right there. I paid $60 for my wireless adapter on ebay and I bought my 360 with almost the same stuff as yours except I only have a 20 GB hard drive for $100. That's $480 and you have a 120 GB hard drive, backup power/AV cables and the Modern Warfare 2 edition you have has to be around $100 by itself. Even if you start at $500, expect more.

It's genital mutilation. The foreskin of the penis is cut off, causing neural and vascular damage.
Noone is born circumcised. Other nerves/nerve endings on the penis are also damaged by circumcision. Veins and blood vessels are permanently severed, disrupting the normal penile blood flow. Scar tissue is formed.
Finally, the glans and surrounding tissues, meant to be covered by the foreskin, are permanently exposed, and keratinize, which dries them out and turns them rough.
The usual loss of sexual sensitivity is about 50-75%, but can be much more for some males, as the damage varies wildly, as I stated before.
Damaging a penis obviously will also damage sexuality.
Most of the males in the world are not circumcised----about 80%. In the USA doctors spread this practice to make money, and because many of them belong to the religions that try to impose circumcision on all males.
The circumcision rate has fallen in the USA to about 50% and continues to decline.
It's wrong to mutilate the genitals of children, but some people still have difficulty grasping that concept.

i would say about 525 to 550
I'd say more than $500. A 360 Elite retails for $300 alone, a wireless adapter is around $80 too. $500 is a good starting point if you were planning on selling on ebay, but anywhere else I'd say to start around at least $600. Even if you say each game is only $20, you're looking at $320 right there. I paid $60 for my wireless adapter on ebay and I bought my 360 with almost the same stuff as yours except I only have a 20 GB hard drive for $100. That's $480 and you have a 120 GB hard drive, backup power/AV cables and the Modern Warfare 2 edition you have has to be around $100 by itself. Even if you start at $500, expect more.

The console I currently own, some lame 12GB RRoD survivor, is on its last legs (again)... I think it's destroying my discs. I just got Dragon age: Origins 2 days ago and already there are scratches on the disc! I haven't done anything to it, so it's gotta be my console. If I try and talk to anyone in the game it locks up right away, saying my damned disc is unreadable. And that's IF the bloody thing will even start up! My 360 seems to think it's a DVD...
So, what I really what to know is this: If I buy that Elite package for $300, am I going to end up with another worthless machine that'll break in less than a year? Oh yeah, and does that bundle come with any sort of warranty? oblivion is good for story and open map but bad faces, voice acting, glitch and graphics are poor but still very entertaining
borderlands good, funny, but you have to be a type to put up with some graphic glitches
mass effect 2 is great for story gameplay etc
red dead redemption can send you on an adventure

assassins creed games are awesome but you need to play them in order

Since I've played almost every good RPG for the PC, I need some suggestions on what else to play. I don't have a console, nor do I plan on owning one. Please don't include MMOs or First Person Shooters, as I find these types of games incredibly boring.

I've looked at thread after thread on similar topics elsewhere, but have struck no mother lode in terms of actually finding a game. So, here's what i'm seeking:
1. Something similar in genre to Demon's Souls - action RPGs, that sort of stuff.
2. Something which requires a fair amount of reflex, skill and coordination - blocking at the right times, dodging, etc.
3. Something which doesn't offer an easy way out and is ruthless - for instance, dying causes you to lose everything you have, etc.
4. If there is a combat system, it should be fun. Demon's Souls is fun - it's open combat.
5. TROLLSTORM INCOMING: Decent graphics. Story gameplay blah blah, but every game released now-a-days has decent graphics, and in this the gaming market has instilled a standard which i seek and require. I'm not saying graphically older are BAD - just that i won't ENJOY them as much. So i want gameplay + GRAPHICS (possibly story, but DS didn't have much of that.)
Based on these criteria, and personal preference, the following games are ruled out:
1. World of Warcraft - why would anyone suggest this? I don't know, but i've seen it as a response to other threads. NO WAY. Played it, got bored. GRIND GRIND GRIND. LK + Cata take away any difficulty, so on so forth.
2. Vindictus - seen this one offered before. Was fairly fun to play, but just didn't have the ruthlessness of DS. Everything aside from SOME bosses was more or less a walk in the park. Furthermore, there are restrictions on competition with other players, instilled by the donator shop that Nexon is so proud of. The one who has the largest bank account wins, generally.
3. Dragon Age (Origins or 2) - Playing it right now and finding that while the story is immersive and interesting and combat is complex and requires strategy and coordination, it's just not for me. Yes, the combat meets the criteria - but it's hardly relentless and challenging. Pause, get a cup of tea, browse the Argos catalogue and queue up some orders. I'm not looking for all out hack'n'slash gameplay, but atleast something closer to that than Dragon Age.
4. Diablo (1 or 2) - Played and completed both (1 was far more challenging than 2, which really shows the way games are going in terms of difficulty.) Yet again, the combat isn't quite suiting to what i'm looking for - too much button smashing and not much timing or perfection required. When you get to a high level the game becomes an easy-*** faceroll and repetitive grinding.
5. Morrowind/Oblivion - played both. Far too open-ended to instill me to do anything at all or progress with the storyline. Enemies become easy-*** faceroll too quickly. Modding can improve this drastically, but i found myself much more involved with looking for b etter and better mods than actually PLAYING the game.
6. Any NWN, Baldur's Gate, blah, blah, blah. Rpg? Yes. What i'm looking for? NO.
Don't start arguments over why i'm wrong. This is my personal preference; I've sucked all the joy i can from these games, and they just don't fit into what i want anymore.
So... challenging, relentless, fun %26amp; rewarding, active and skill-requiring. FOR PC, NOT CONSOLE. If any of you millions of people can quench my thirst for this elusive game, i will metaphorically grant you the title 'Winner of Life'. metal gear solid 4 because it is the best game with the best story, and character development and is challenging if you play on hard mode, having to play without being caught, you get rewarded with new weapons and other things.

Looking for a good story-driven PC game?
I'm on college winter break, home visiting family. I need something to occupy my time not spent on the holidays or with my friends at home and while I wait for Mass Effect 2 to come out.
When it comes to gaming, I much prefer an engaging story over gameplay; good visuals are always welcome. For example, one of my favorite games of all time is Shenmue (besides Mass Effect) for the Dreamcast.
I can't tell you exactly what I want, but I can give you an idea of what I DON'T want.
No Bioshock. Bioshock is one of the rare cases where the gameplay was bad enough for me to not care about the excellent story. Sorry to the many the fans of the game.
No Epic Fantasy games. I just finished Dragon Age. I don't want to spend another 100+ hours in a game, ignoring my girlfriend and family. Plus I'm tired of dragons and elves and everything Tolkien; I want something original.
In fact, all epic RPGs might have to be ruled out as well. I don't have the attention span for final fantasy nor many JRPGs.
No Horror games, unless they have such an outstanding story. I'm looking for something that won't stress me out and make me feel like I'm having a heart attack. Scary movies 鈥?Love 'em; scary games 鈥?like 'em, but I'd like to relax over winter break.
I'm iffy about FPSs, but not totally opposed. I've shot and killed so many mutants, Nazis, military agents, mawmen and headcrabs, bandits, anything and everything that I'm tired of shooting things. And nothing too old. Try to keep it previous console generation or newer, with the possible exception of N64.

I just got done playing Mirror's Edge over the weekend. It's not very long, which could be a problem if you finish it too quickly and find yourself with nothing to do all over again. It's only $20 on Steam right now. It's a 1st person game and there is some shooting, but it's more like an adventure game with puzzle elements. I think it pretty accurately matches the kind of game you're looking for, so check out some reviews for it and decide if you want it or not.

Do you like platforming/adventure? I see you liked Beyond Good and Evil and though it's a different game I think Psychonauts was a really fun story driven platformer/adventure game that kinda has that feel to it. You can find it for your ps2 and pc.
Also how do you feel about old pc games? Have you played the original Deus Ex? It's still probably my favorite PC game of all time. But this has a lot of killing.

I just got done playing Mirror's Edge over the weekend. It's not very long, which could be a problem if you finish it too quickly and find yourself with nothing to do all over again. It's only $20 on Steam right now. It's a 1st person game and there is some shooting, but it's more like an adventure game with puzzle elements. I think it pretty accurately matches the kind of game you're looking for, so check out some reviews for it and decide if you want it or not.

Also, a lot of the sports games before 2009 you will have a hard time to trade in because not every gamestop accepts them. You will have to go to different gamestops to see which one accepts them. Got 3 red rings but now xbox is working?
I've been playing dragon age origins for a short while but it kept crashing on me so I kept having to turn the console on and off. It still kept crashing everytime I went on it. I decided to install the game to the HDD to see if that would work but before I could put the game in I got 3 red rings of death. I turned the console on and off and still red rings. I left it for 20 minutes, went back and now the rings are green.
Anyone know what happened? Will I get the rings back again? Any ideas about dragon age crashing?
PS: I don't spend hours and hours at a time gaming so I'm not so sure that it has anything to do with overheatingGot 3 red rings but now xbox is working?
it could have something to do with over heating, it not just how long you are on it for, wear it is kept also plays a part in it. mine gave me the ring of death last week and i still forget to turn it of and it work just fine so i wouldnt worry about it.Got 3 red rings but now xbox is working?
well my mate got this left it, went back BOOM isall good, he gets it every now and again but his xbox seems to be working out :D and no sorry to hear about the dragon age, its a great game :D

Okay, heres the deal, if your keep getting red rings around your xbox just unplug it (powercord into the xbox not from the wall), then plug it back in, then turn it on using the eject button, and your red rings of xboxish death are done with and you will not get them again unless you do the same thing as you did before, but then if you do, do the same thing as before you will know how to solve it.

Yosome is right, kinda. Its saying that you have a heating issue most likely which xbox is known for . It will eventually get them permanently. Do you have a cooler of some kind? If not I would get one soon. I also had the same thing happen but eventually it RROD and wouldnt come back. I do spend hours and hours on it and I have abused the hell outta my 360 pro. Do you have a warranty? If you do, I would wait till it happens again and send it off to Microsoft. They will either fix yours up or send you a refurbished one which is the same thing. If you dont have a warranty, wait till it gets the RROD again and then send it to me. Ill either fix it for cheaper than Microsoft can or Ill buy it from you. Anyways, Good luck and get an external cooling system for it!!

Xbox Live keeps disconnecting?
This started last night but I do what I usually do (turn on the console, controller, pop the disk in etc) and then started to play Dragon Age 2. After about 30 minutes it signed me out so I tried to in in again and it wouldn't let me.. After about an hour I signed in again for about 10 minutes then it repeats. How can I make it work and/or why is this happening?

I got a PS3 today and i am having trouble trying to set it up.
I am connecting it to a standard TV so it's not HD. I tried the whole two beep thing which did work the first time. I then tried to set up the internet and it went back to not working again. Then i tried it again and after fiddling around with the button on the back of the console and the power button. I got it to work, until i put dragon age origins in. The screen went black for about two minutes so i just turned the console off. Now it won't come on at all. I can't send it off either due to snow and how close to christmas it is, also this was meant to be a present for someone.

If you have a warranty then DON'T open it but, if you have no warranty or store warranty then you can try taking out the hard drive.
There is a blue screw that holds the hard drive in. Don't strip that screw it is a small philips head screw. Now once the screw is out slide it your right and then pull it out. Now boot up the PS3 and see what happeneds. It won't work because a PS3 needs the Hard drive but, it should boot up and show you an error message saying something on an order of it has no hard drive.
If it does boot without the hard drive then you have to get another hard drive it has to be 2.5 inches and 5400 RPM's.
If no lights are coming on then when you are powering it up then something is seriously wrong. with it and it should be returned.ameren missouri christian book

I'm not a gamer, obviously. I've enjoyed playing some games on my computer (Knights of the Old Republic and Dragon Age, for example). I'm in the market for an actual video game console now, but I really don't have a clue which one is best. I've played Wii with friends before, and enjoyed it. Beyond playing solo, I want a console I can enjoy with one or more friends. I'd also like to try some of the cool fitness games out there. So, I'm wondering what people who have experience with all the consoles and specifically with the motion controller aspects have to say. What is the best PlayStation 3 RPG?
My Xbox recently got RROD, so now I'm getting a PS3 and have some money to get a couple games ($128.05, to be exact). I am really into RPGs, because I like to customize my character. I am definitely going to get Crysis 2 and inFAMOUS (the first one), which will leave me with $76.02. I was really into Dragon Age: Origins when I had it, but I only got through it once with a rogue because I couldn't kill the Archdemon (I sucked and gave up). I used to also have Dragon Age 2 for Xbox, and liked how you could control your attacks, but I got barely past the Deeproads expedition until it RRODed. I have about 5 choices: Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition, Dragon Age 2 Bioware Signature Edition, Fallout 3 GOTY, Final Fantasy, or Dungeon Siege III. I can get two of those 5 choices, unless there is anything better (and please don't say Oblivion, because I've beaten it about 5 times). I'm looking for one that has character customization, so can you please help?BTW I don't want any fanboy crap from you 360 fans, you have to admit the PS3 is the better console, so SHUTUP. Okay, Fallout 3 GOTY is a great game and has lots of play through hours and has good graphics. You can customize your person's face but not his body type. Unlike Oblivion, it has you picking, like, three classes in the beginning. But as you progress, you are able to get perks, based on your S.P.E.C.I.A.L points (strength, charisma, intellegence, etc.) and your skill points (sneak, small guns, speech, barter, etc.). I bought it about a year ago and still haven't got platinum.
I heard the most recent final fantasy is kind of crappy.

I'm looking for games to get for PC. I do not own a console.
To be more specific, I am looking for games like Bully, Assassin's Creed, NBA 2K11, Fallout 3, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc.. I'm not really into MMORPGs or online games that much so single player games are preferred, but not necessary!

Bully is on PC and its the scholarship edition so you have a few more missions and more rewards
and games like GTA San Andreas are brillaint games like Bully too (i know a few mods to play as Jimmy Hopkins ;) and i also made a bully cape)

How do I repair a scratched video game disk?
Alright, here's the whole story. Before I tell it, the answer I'm looking for is "Can I repair this or not? And if so, what's the best way to do this?"
A while ago, I was moving an xBox from the basement to a room on the upper floor, the sitting room I call it.
I had the game Dragon Age in it, while I was moving it. The version of the game I have is the Ultimate Edition, which means it includes:
Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Awakening
And all of the DLC.
So I moved the xbox, plugged it in, and turned it on. Almost immediately after I started it, I heard a whirring, and realized it was upside-down. Realizing my stupid mistake, I turned the xbox off and turned it right-side up as quickly as I could. This was a short amount of time I left it on like that, maybe 30 seconds.
I took out the disk to check for damage, and there's a long, clean scratch. It appeared as if as the console tried reading the disk, as it spun it left a mark because the console was upside-down.
Now when I try to play the game, it doesn't allow me to load a file or start a new game.
The game loads perfectly, however, the creators and the menu are fine. But as soon as the loading screen comes up when I try to load a previous game or start a new one, it starts loading.. Then tells me the disk is unreadable.
Is there any way to repair the disk?
If so, how can I do this?
I don't have much money, but if the best option costs money, I'd still like to know.

Your disc is probably scratched beyond anything you can do at home. Take it to a computer repair store and IF the game can be fixed, they will be the ones who can help.
Due to my experience with this type of disk damage (it destroyed my gta IV) am going to say no unfortunately it will not be possible to repair. also if you hold the disk up to a light and u can see light through the scratch it means the data layer is damaged in which case the disk is definitely beyond repairHow do I repair a scratched video game disk?
i've done this and its worked for me....i can't make any promises though. Get the cd and wet it in the sink.
grab a tube of tooth paste and squirt some on the cd. Apply a lot, not too much but enough to cover the entire surface of the cd. With your thumbs spread it thoroughly. When you're done, turn on your faucet and rinse the cd with warm water. ( cold works too but warms makes it come off easier) After that dry it with a cloth (something soft that won't scratch your cd more)
pop it back in n see if it works. Worked for me...

Why is gameplay choppy on the PS3?
I know this has been asked over and over and over again, but most of these answers are BS. (Surprise, it's the internet, people don't know anything), but I've yet to find as sufficient answer, which is hard to believe since millions of these things have been sold, and the chances of -this- PS3 having something wrong with it are slim to none.
I have a 2010 model 1080p/120hz refresh rate TV, this model after a couple of minutes of searching, has no major display problems, it can handle blu-ray movies just fine along with seamless frame-rate on game-play mode when connected to my computer via high-speed HDMI playing Starcraft II (With Ultra settings 1080p display with 200+ units on screen). So it's not the TV, and it's not the HDMI cable I use.
My girlfriend bought me a PS3 (160 gig) for my birthday last month, along with a handful of games. Now, before I played anything, I like to play with all the settings, made my PSN account, etc.
I'll list all the display settings so you can get a more accurate description:
Video Output: HDMI
RGB Full Range (HDMI) Full
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI) On
Deep Color Output (HDMI) Automatic
The PS3 is constantly connected to high-speed internet (20-25 mb/s Download, 4-5 mb/s Upload speeds on average) via ethernet cable.
When the PS3 is on, it has a clearance of 1 foot in each direction, in a heavily air conditioned room (With the filters cleaned last month, so the fans couldn't have possibly clogged up already)
Now, with most games I get flawless gameplay, Infamous 2, MGS 4, etc.
But when I get to LA Noire, and Dragon Age (Original) [Yes I know, I'm really late, and it's a lot better on PC, but I saw it for 30 bucks and I never actually knew anything about the game, so I got it]
I get choppy gameplay. Now, I would understand if it was during heavy displays (A giant fire covering the screen... or let's say, a very demanding movie-esque cutscene), but this is literally while I'm driving down a mildly populated 4-lane avenue. Or, when I have 4 party members, and I'm simply walking through the forest (wilds). To be more specific, the screen jumps, for just a fraction of a second, and returns to normal = choppyness. And during this time, the frame-rate is lowered. It wouldn't bother me, if it was every-so-often, but it literally jumps every 3 seconds. When I stop moving, and turn the camera around, the frame-rate returns to normal.
Now, I realize the makers of these games make them for well-built custom gaming rigs, and water it down for the console versions, and during heavy fight scenes, or demanding visual effects, the console struggles to keep the display running on par, but what irritated me was the fact that it only needed Dragon Age to have a lake in the background for the screen to chop constantly. After 30 minutes or so, it gets a little unnerving.
So: My question is: Are these 2 games (LA Noire/Dragon Age) really too demanding for the PS3, or is there a known issue behind this? (Sometimes gameplay is choppy when connected to the internet, even though the game is single-player, or... the PS3 is allergic to newspapers, etc) Is there a certain display option that stresses the PS3's graphics capability (Which seems stupid for Sony to include these things for gameplay)? Are there other variables I've yet to take into consideration? Thanks for any information you've provided (even if you don't answer the question)
A little Misc. info: I've never stepped on, hit, banged, dropped, scratched or otherwise caused physical harm to the PS3 unit. It is laying down flat. All the games I've played on the PS3 are new, there were no scratches on the CDs. Both the TV and the PS3 check for firmware updates daily. I do not burn candles, or anything else in the same room as the PS3. I have no pet. It IS next to a broken 360.. so maybe I should move that in case of any bad mojo. I bought Dragon Age Ultimate edition, so it has all the content patches, and expansion pack (If there is a known issue there). When playing the PS3, I do have my TV on "Game-play" mode to maximize frames-per-second.

If you think there are more than 2 types of HDMI cables (without ethernet/automotive)
If you're going to bash either the 360 or PS3

The choppiness is the games problem. Its usually the game developers fault for not taking the time to smooth out the frame per second. One great example of horrid choppy gameplay is Mafia II. It is horrible. Some games that are complete still have some chop to it but not as bad as others. So your doing nothing wrong it is the game that is at fault and the rush to put out the title which really shouldn't happen in some cases.
OH YEAH just so you know if you downloaded dragon age: origins they compress the game so it can be downloadable it may be the reason that it is choppy. Also I remember playing this on disc it was choppy when I played it on disc.Why is gameplay choppy on the PS3?

My PS3 tends to 'freeze' at certain parts in certain games. What do I do?
I have purchased (several years ago. Probably about....3), a refurbished Playstation 3. Since my time of purchase it has been working JUST fine. I have ONLY played PS3 games on this console. I do not have any image files/music files/videos/downloaded games on it. I have only played things such as Dragon Age: Origins, Rock Band, Resident Evil 5, Soul Caliber 4, Saw, and Silent Hill: Homecoming. These are the -only- games I own for this console. The version of this playstation 3 doesn't play any other discs BUT ps3 games and DVD's.
Recently I have been having trouble with it, but only with my games "Soul Caliber 4" and "Dragon Age: Origins". My problems are as follows.
When playing Dragon Age: Origins, whenever I reach a certain part in the storyline/plot with a certain file (or any file for that matter), it will "freeze" on the map screen while loading, or at any loading screen, and stay that way for up to 30 minutes before I am forced to turn my system off. I have checked, and the data is not corrupted.
When playing Soul Calibur 4, my Playstation will freeze randomly, and remain so until I turn it off/on again, and even then it's not guaranteed it won't happen a second time.

Recently I have been having trouble with it, but only with my games "Soul Caliber 4" and "Dragon Age: Origins". My problems are as follows.
When playing Dragon Age: Origins, whenever I reach a certain part in the storyline/plot with a certain file (or any file for that matter), it will "freeze" on the map screen while loading, or at any loading screen, and stay that way for up to 30 minutes before I am forced to turn my system off. I have checked, and the data is not corrupted.
When playing Soul Calibur 4, my Playstation will freeze randomly, and remain so until I turn it off/on again, and even then it's not guaranteed it won't happen a second time.

Leliana's song problem?
I recently downloaded some Dragon Age DLC with my hard drive on on a friend's console since I can't get on Xbox Live at my house. Just today I did the license transfer thing so I could play them offline on my own console at home (since I didn't know I'd have to do that when I just brought my hard drive to my friend's). It said all the downloads had been successful. However, it now says two unknown DLCs are corrupt when I start Origins. I believe one is Leliana's song since it doesn't give me the option to play it when I select 'New Game'. I'm not sure what the other is since I haven't had a chance to check. Would I simply have to re-download the two DLCs that were corrupt or is it something more complicated?Leliana's song problem?

Unrecognized disc error on xbox 360?
i just bought Dragon Age origins from gamestop yesterday night, played a little bit, went to bed, came back from school the next day and tried to play it. but i put the disc in and it said Unrecognized disc. try wiping disc with a cloth and restart console. i did both things numerous times, theres no scratches on the disc, and any other disc plays fine, whats wrong?!!Unrecognized disc error on xbox 360?

i'm looking for some new games i might enjoy but i tend to be pretty picky, some of my favorites were kotor 1 and 2, witcher, oblivion, fallout 3 and vegas, morrowind, dragon age 1 and 2 and as far as console games go i enjoyed the tales series and the mana khemia series... i'm mostly looking for rpg's because i have really bad vision i cant play fps's...(they don't readjust to movement very well) so games that allow you to pause and plan out your attacks are helpful... another plus is really pretty settings(like shivering isles) i startle really easily so horror survival games are not my thing.... unicorns are another plus... they need to put unicorns in more games... oh yeah and if it's from the 90's or earlier i've most likely already played it including every text based game...Single player pc game suggestions?
