Xbox 360 Slim 4GB Console-Hard Drive Related Questions?

Ok so my old 360 seems to be nearing its end, and as such I've decided to go and acquire a new Xbox 360 Slim (without the Kinect feature) before it up and dies on me. Microsoft, in order make things convenient for me, seems to have decided to provide only two size options-One with far to little space (4gb) and the other with far more than I actually need (250GB). These two are divided by a 100$ price range. So what I was wondering... answered preferably by owners of 4GB models or this in possession of hard facts instead of speculation based on other models and such.

Does the 4GB model come with a working internal port for hard drive upgrades (not including the taking cases apart and sticking your old 360s hard drive in)? Or are the hard drive upgrades available something you have to shove into a USB slot on the outside and leave sitting hanging out?

Do the generic hard drives I've been seeing online for around 50$ work as well for all features (such as dlc, game saves, profile, game installing, etc) as the 250GB Microsoft slim official hard drives that cost something closer to 100-120$?

Are there any official slim model Xbox 360 hard drive upgrades that are smaller than 250GB, and as such cost significantly less (Like a 120GB for 60$ for example)?

Answering any or all of these questions would be a great help! My budget is limited, so I want to get the cheapest I can manage (without going into the used/refurbished zone) that actually works to do what I need of it. I'd love to have something around 40-60+ GB of space, but anything beyond that will likely never be used. At the same time DLC take up far to much space for the 4GB to work (my Dragon Age Origins game between DLC and saves already has 5.6GB devoted to it). I've been looking for these answers on my own, but what I'm finding is often unclear or sounds like speculation. I'd just like to be as informed as possible before putting out 250-300$+. Thanks for your help! :DXbox 360 Slim 4GB Console-Hard Drive Related Questions?
Yes it does come with a port for upgrades... Yes the cheaper hard drives will work, but sometimes they won't allow you to download something or do something if they are not Microsoft official... No there is not.

You can go to youtube and find a video on how to use your old phat hard drive in the slim, or... You can use flash drives to keep all your stuff on until you get the money for a hard drive. Note: Flash drives have to be be bigger then 1gb but smaller then 16gb. You can have a total of 2 in at a time. They do not have to be xbox official.Xbox 360 Slim 4GB Console-Hard Drive Related Questions?
seriously just use the old 360 hard drive in the new slim model. I have done it myself and it read/saves info flawlessly. They are made to work together but microsoft sells them with different plastic shells to make more money. Just watch a video on Youtube on how to do it. Its so easy and if you still have your old drive then you will have to spend $0..And if you want to make it legit they sell empty plastic cases for your old hard drive to fit in so it will fit correctly to your slim xbox for like $7Xbox 360 Slim 4GB Console-Hard Drive Related Questions?
im not a 4gb slim owner but i can help. what u should do is get a couple of usb thumbdrives. max will be 16gb. that is the current limit for the xbox on thumbdrives. configure it to ur xbox then ur set. to configure go to the memory part of the dashboard. when u r there if u have any thumdrives plugged in it should say usb storage device. look at the bottom of the screen and press the button that says configure now or something like that. be sure to have the usb device highleted b4 u click configure. if i confused u google on how to do it. the slim has 5 usb ports so u can use what ever else u need. 2 in the front and 3 in the back.
I own the Xbox 360 slim 4GB and so far it's been great. It does have little space on it, so instead of going and buying the hard drive for which cost like $100, I bought a 16GB flash drive for it and that was only like $30. The Xbox 360 slim 4GB has 5 usb ports (2 in the front and 3 in the back) it also has a slot in the bottom where you can insert the hard drive, if you decide to buy one.
