I am trying to use some cheats in the game (before "cheater", I've beaten the game, I just wanna try it with some cheats), but I can't figure out how to do it! I have the shortcut, but I don't know what else to do. I look it up and it says this:
Make a shortcut to your desktop of "daorigins.exe" (Dragon Age/bin_ship/daorigins.exe) go to shortcut properties, and under Target add -enabledeveloperconsole (after ..daorigins.exe" )
This can be done on the Steam version by right clicking on the game in your Games List, choosing Properties, and clicking Set Launch Options. This allows you to enter command line option.
Then go into the keybindings.ini file located in "My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\" Find the line "OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_X" (GRAVE is default, change X to any button that is not already used in the game.)
Save the file, and start the game with the shortcut you created on your desktop (daorigins.exe - shortcut)
In-game, you press the key that you have chosen (Keyboard::Button_X) and then type the following codes: (Note, this has only been tested on the retail version, and not the Steam version. Also, you may not see the console, or what you are typing, this is normal.)
Can someone break it down for me, please? Thanks so much. Ooh, and I have it PC versionI need help with Dragon Age, please!?
Do you have the normal version or the steam version? If you're not sure I would assume you have the normal one:
Make a shortcut to your "daorigins.exe" file (typically located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age\bin_ship folder) on your desktop or Start Menu (right click the file and make a shortcut then place it on your desktop)
Right click your new shortcut, choose properties, then add the line in the *Target* field "-enabledeveloperconsole" (without the quotes) to the end of the shortcut and it should look something like:
"C:\Program Files\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole
Be sure that there is a single space between the last quotation mark and the -.
If you have the Steam version:
Go to your My Games tab and right-click on Dragon Age: Origins. In the General tab you will see a "Set launch options..." button. Click on it and add "-enabledeveloperconsole" (without quotes) to the start options field.
Moving on:
Open the file "\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\KeyBindings.ini" in your My Documents folder. Find the line that says "OpenConsole_0" and change the value after the equals sign (=) to "Keyboard::Button_Tilde".
To open the console after running the game, press the ~ button in the top left corner of your keyboard.
You will not be able to see the console, but you can tell that it is open because keys you normally can use as shortcuts to commands will no longer work (C for Character Record, etc).I need help with Dragon Age, please!?
Do what aussie mum says except when you have to put in -enabledeveleporconsole put a single space AFTER you type it and before too
