Should i buy Dragon Age Origins?

How does the console version's battle system work and is it a good buy?Should i buy Dragon Age Origins?
If you're looking for an expansive, involving and deep Role-Playing Game then you should definitely consider picking Dragon Age: Origins up.

The game is massive, and will take a minimum of about thirty hours to complete. I myself have spent over 50 hours within the game and have yet to complete the main story.

The battle system isn't anything original, but is still effective and interesting. You select either one, or all of the members of your party, and issue them with commands. For example, ordering them to attack normally, use special attacks, or cast spells.

Tactics are needed during battles however, so you won't get far by just ordering your entire party to bombard the enemies with melee attacks. You may want to keep a mage a long distance from the enemy and emit spells from afar. Or send a large "brute" party member to pummel the enemy with tons of melee attacks, whilst an archer stays back and uses their bow and arrow.

The game is brilliant. An intriguing and involving story, a cast of FANTASTIC characters, and a brilliant combat system make this a must-buy for any RPG fan.Should i buy Dragon Age Origins?
Yes, yes and yes. Dragon Age: Origins is awesome, I have the PS3 version personally. I kinda regret not buying the PC version.. However, the PS3 version was cheaper at the time. The controls are sharp and combat as was already previously said isn't anything unique or special but it's fun.
It has a really deep story and keeps you wanting to play for large amounts of time, so I can safely say it can be dangerous sometimes ;)

Definitely get this game. I'd also suggest you pick up the Ultimate Edition to get the DLC.Should i buy Dragon Age Origins?
I'd definitely buy it.

One of the best games I've played in a long time.

Here's a few comments on the battle system

The beautiful thing about the game is the tactics. You can assign tactics for each party member. So let's say you're a Mage who is being attacked by a Melee attack, you can assign a warrior in your team to react to that and bash the enemy down to the floor. Or if a party member needs healing quickly, you can assign a healer to heal you (or all party members) when your HP hits a certain point. etc.

You also build relationships with your companions, which makes you feel part of the game.

So yeah, buy it! You won't regret it. (:
