PlayStation3 or Xbox 360?

I know I want to buy one of these two (Wii not a candidate), but not sure which one. The games I want to play are generally the ones both have, like Dragon Age, Assassin Creed, FF13, GTA, Oblivion, etc..



The only thing about 360 is that hardware defect scare me to death. My day is stressful enough, last thing I want to worry about is having to ship my console out. Though I don't know if new models still have the red ring of death problems. And there is also the fact that online play isn't free though it is the best experience and worth the money.



360 seem to have more better games in general (currently anyway). I mainly like games that are RPG or generally killing based games which both have. I only have a TV that runs 720p resolution.



Any persuasive comments would be appreciated!PlayStation3 or Xbox 360?
The 360 does actually have a larger variety of games, and it has the best online experience but it's $50. I haven't played the PS3. If I have, probably twice. And I didn't like it. The controller is so light, it's basically not even there, and personally, I hate that. The Playstation Network, from what I've seen, is like a virtual world, and it sucks ***. The Xbox doesn't focus as much on avatars, except the occasional prop or outfit. The PS3 online may be free, but it's laggy as ****. And even though it's a pain in the *** to send your 360 to Microsoft, it's worth it, because I think besides repairing it, they add some sort of hardware to sort of prevent the RRoD from happening anytime soon. So if I were to tell you what to buy, definitly the 360.
I have a PS3 and my son has an XBOX360 ,both are good consoles and each has there merits.

I have never had trouble with my PS3 yet my son is on his 4th xbox360 so if you want to play it safe I'd go with the PS3,but as far as games go you can't go wrong with either system. Just remember that even though Xbox Live is only $50 , you still have to buy a Wi-Fi adapter for $100 or so,another advantage with the PS3 is its Wi-Fi is built in and it's great to watch Blueray movies on it.PlayStation3 or Xbox 360?
PS3 is a better choice for you i say mainly due to your concern over the 360s failure rate and the payment of online(for me PSN is like XBLA). 360 is a shooter console so that can justify your reasons on getting one as you like killing based games however PS3 has the same games besides Gears of War and Halo. PS3 is definitely your choice for RPG than 360.Your TV will be of no concern as both consoles will be able to utilize what they are give.
If you like RPG's, then the 360 is your console. The hardware problem isn't as prominent these days, but no matter what console you get there's always going to be the possibility of some failure or another (although the 360's is relatively high). And yes, Xbox Live is the best online gaming experience out there, and at only $49.99/yr, it's not too shabby at all. All in all, you can't really go wrong with either console, but with what you've posted here, I'd highly recommend the 360.PlayStation3 or Xbox 360?
the ps3 is the better choice because they dont break like 360 do and you dont have to pay for online

paying to play online is the biggest load of ****



but personally the pc would be better for the type of games you play and its not that expensive for 1200$ aus i am building a computer that will kill the ps3, xbox in everything. and the games are like 70% cheaper than the consoles if you buy the games from places like steam ebay
Get A Playstation 3-You can play Playstation 2 games on it.
DO NOT BUY A 360 i have had mine break down on me 7 times buy a PS3 you wont regret it
PS3, It doesn't have a 60% failure rate.
I'll go for PlayStation 3 because as we know it is made by Sony - a world class brand for years. the joystick of PS3 is more handy than Xbox 360.
i have a wii 360 and ps3, and i play my wii more than my ps3. for surely get the the 360.



i've had my 360 for a year and a half with no hardware problems. the online multiplayer is much better and worth the extra 50 a year.



if you tv only runs at 720p then blu ray doesn't mattter. also the new ps3 can't play ps2 games

but the 360 does play original xbox games.



once you start playing halo 3 you will never stop.



if for some reason you do buy the ps3 make sure you get infamous that game rocks.
Get the Playstation 3, There is so many games coming out next year that fit your gaming tastes and some of them are exclusive to the PS3.

PSNetwork is rather stable, don't listen to people that say otherwise. They are honestly biased towards 360. 360's Live may be better overall generally speaking on features such as cross game voice chats. (Microsoft slapped a patent on it)
